Yogesh is the Founder of Empenner Consulting LLC, a strategy consulting services provider to Global Airlines/Aerospace Businesses and Investors.
Yogesh was recently Managing Director of Corporate Planning at Delta Air Lines. In this role, he led the integrated enterprise level planning for the Airline during a period of historic turbulence and demand uncertainty. Prior to this role, Yogesh was Managing Director of Strategic Sourcing leading Delta’s aircraft related technical supply chain organization that included Engines, Components, Airframe MRO services and Aircraft Interiors totaling $3.5B in annual spend. Yogesh joined Delta Air Lines in the fall of 2016 as Managing Director of Fleet Strategy and Analysis. In this role, he led a cross divisional team to develop a long-term strategic fleet plan that included retirement of older technology narrow body fleets, acquisition of new technology A321 neo aircraft and investment in onboard product upgrade of wide body aircraft.
Prior to joining Delta, Yogesh was Director of Fleet Planning and Analysis at American Airlines Group. In this role, he led creation of a strategic fleet plan that included retirement and acquisition planning for a fleet of over 900 mainline and 600 regional aircraft. During American’s restructuring, Yogesh played a key role in adding large regional jets to the fleet enabled by a new pilot scope agreement. He led team to negotiate best in class deal with Bombardier and Embraer to acquire over 120 large regional jets. He was instrumental in post-merger integration of American and US Airways fleets to achieve fleet commonality and optimize the fleet order book to align with strategic needs of the merged company. Yogesh held a number of leadership positions in financial and strategic planning during his nearly a decade with American Airlines. His key roles included operations strategic planning, international revenue analysis, long term financial planning and flight profitability analysis.
Yogesh holds an MBA with concentration in Finance and Strategy from Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.
